A small shop, on purpose.
There is no account manager between you and the person who draws your plans. Peter draws them, and he is the one sitting across the table at the first meeting.
Since 1986
Leonard Builders has been building and remodeling homes in the Mount Washington Valley for over 40 years. The work is residential: additions and remodeling for the most part, new homes when somebody wants one, and the repairs in between.
Nearly all of the work comes by referral, which is both the nicest thing about the job and the reason we take on what we can do properly rather than as much as we can get.

The people you will be dealing with
Peter holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He left a career in product design engineering in 1986 to build houses, and has been designing and building in the Mount Washington Valley ever since. He draws every project plan himself, in pencil on vellum, and he is the person who sits across the table from you at the first meeting.
Kathleen is the first person you speak to when you call the office or walk through the door. She keeps the schedule, the paperwork and the phone, and she will know where your project stands on any given morning.
Our carpenters, and the people we bring in
The carpentry is done by our own full-time carpenters. For work that is not carpentry — excavation, foundations, plumbing, electrical, heating, roofing — we use subcontractors we have worked with for years and would put on our own houses.
We schedule them, we meet them on site, and we answer for their work. Whoever is holding the hammer on a given morning, the person you call is us.
Come and meet us.
29 Route 113 in Albany, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm. Walk-ins welcome.
